Fall is here! Reds, oranges and yellows are everywhere and fall leaves, acorns and twigs are popping up outside and inside. Whether you’re planning some festive parties or are just enjoying some family time, with just a few easy decorations and changes, you can bring fall into your kitchen this month.

Warm colors and natural decor can make your kitchen feel cozy, warm and festive. Before you get started, make sure your appliances and plumbing are in good condition so you can avoid water damage and issues during the holiday season. We offer plumbing service on Long Island, and can make repairs for you.

Fall Centerpiece

What’s easier and more classic than a seasonal centerpiece? Go simple with a vase full of seasonal flowers and a few twigs, wrapped in a fall-colored bow. Or, surround a tall vase or candle with smaller knick-knacks and scatter a few leaves around the base for a bigger effect. You can change parts of this throughout the month to keep it looking new and interesting.

Mini Wreaths for Cupboard Doors

Wreaths aren’t just for the front door! Hang a few mini wreaths, made of twigs, fall leaves, acorns and warm-colored flowers, on your kitchen cupboard doors. You can use a red or orange ribbon to add to the look. You could also hang a wreath in your kitchen window or on a wall that could use a little personality.

As an alternative to a centerpiece, you can put together a harvest basket to put on the table, counter or a shelf. Fill a basket with small pumpkins, dried corn on the cob, nuts and other seasonal items. This is perfect for the kitchen and you can dress up the basket with ribbon or fabric to match your kitchen or bring in a little extra fall color.

Simple Table Runner or Placemats

Dress up the table with a simple runner or some festive placemats. You can leave these set up all season on your dining room table or breakfast nook to add some color and bring the season inside for a few weeks. Use a strip of decorative fabric, or even burlap, for a runner and balance it with a centerpiece or simple vase. You can also use some festive placemats for the same effect and to add some fall spirit to a dinner or party.

Now that fall is in full swing and Thanksgiving is around the corner, bring some autumn colors and fall spirit into your kitchen. If you are looking for plumbing service on Long Island, contact us. We can help you make sure your appliances and plumbing are ready for the holidays.
