If your bathroom vanity has seen better days you can give it a makeover without spending a fortune. In fact, with just a few updates to your existing counters, drawers and even mirror your vanity will look like new, giving your whole bathroom an updated look. If your bathroom update requires plumbing alterations, appliance repair or boiler repair on Long Island, contact us.

Update that Mirror

Plain, simple bathroom mirrors are great, but you can easily dress yours up to make it a focal point and make a statement with it. Purchase some crown molding and paint it or stain it to match your bathroom. Then, install the pieces around your mirror to frame it. If you want, you can use removable Velcro mounting strips so you can easily change out the look later.

Add more Lighting

Many bathrooms, especially in older homes, lack proper lighting. The right kind of lighting can breathe new life into your bathroom and give it depth and dimension. Try installing lighting above the vanity, above the mirror or anywhere else that could use a little extra light.

Dress up the Cabinets

If your cabinets or drawers are looking a little worn, update them with a new finish or fresh coat of paint. When you do this, you can add some trim or even beadboard to make your cabinets look like new. For a smaller update, just add new hardware, which can drastically change the style of a bathroom.

Make Some Open Cabinets

If you have a large vanity or lots of cabinets in your bathroom, why not turn one or two into open cabinets? Just take the doors off and update the inside with paint if needed. This is the perfect place to store towels or bathroom supplies or arrange a few accessories.

Install a New Faucet

You don’t have to add a whole new bathroom sink just to give it a new look. Install a new faucet to give it a quick update or completely change its style. You can easily get rid of that old-style faucet and opt for a modern look or a more traditional model.

Bring Organization to the Inside

Your makeover shouldn’t end with the outside of your vanity! Tackle the inside of your cabinets and drawers by getting rid of things you don’t need and then taming the clutter with drawer organizers, baskets, bins and even hooks on the inside of doors.

Whether your vanity is in need of some repairs and an update or you are just ready for a new look, use these easy tips to make a big statement. If your bathroom makeover includes remodeling, leak repairs or boiler repair on Long Island, contact us. We specialize in these areas and are ready to help you make sure your bathroom is in top condition.
